From April 24th to 26th, 2024, the 32nd China International Electronic Equipment and Microelectronics Industry Exhibition's Automotive Electronics Production Technology Salon, co-hosted by MDGLOBLE (Shanghai Maodian Science and Technology Co., Ltd.) and NEPCON, was successfully held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. The event attracted industry giants from the electronic automotive sector who exchanged information on production technologies and discussed new trends in automotive electronics under the context of intelligent connectivity. A number of guest speakers enthusiastically shared insights into automotive electronics production technologies and their visions for the future of the automobile industry, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees.

The opening ceremony on April 24th was initiated by Ms. Lisa Zhang, CEO of MDGLOBLE, who expressed heartfelt gratitude and a warm welcome to all participants. Ms. Zhang highlighted China's automotive industry's growing strength and its gradual leadership in global automotive development trends. With the booming sales of new energy vehicles, automotive electronics are experiencing a prolonged boom. She stressed that the salon aimed to present the latest developments and trends in automotive electronics disassembly technology, providing a valuable platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas and establish a solid foundation for future cooperation, thereby promoting the development and progress of the automotive industry.

The first day of the automotive electronics disassembly technology exchange event kicked off in a warm atmosphere, with a high and energetic atmosphere! Visitors were deeply attracted and immersed in the journey of exploring the mystery of automotive electronic parts disassembly. Here, from smart modules to air flow sensors, from electronic seat switches to car seat wiring harnesses, to key components such as exterior electronic mirrors and electronic water pumps, the high skill and outstanding performance of automotive electronics technology was demonstrated. Visitors were able to get a close-up look at the delicate inner structure of these core components, as if they were stepping into an automotive electronic technology discovery park full of wonders!

At the site of this salon event, industry experts and participants gathered together to have a lively discussion on the attractiveness and future orientation of automotive electronics dismantling technology. One of the highlights of this event is that more than ten top experts in the field were invited to share their speeches, who not only displayed the latest scientific and technological achievements, but also analyzed the unique insights and forward-looking predictions on the future trends of the automotive electronics industry through practical application cases, presenting a knowledge feast for the participants.

On April 24th, a total of 4 speakers shared their views on the day, they are: Regional Director of Customer Support Department of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd(CATL): Mr. Jiang Sijie; General Manager of Operation Center of MeiG Smart Technology Co., Ltd: Mr. Huang Dequan; Director of Standards of IPC: Mr. Li Jinshan; Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Automotive Industry Association: Mr. Zhang Shuqiao.

Four speakers gave speeches on the topics of Power Battery, High-order Intelligent Module, IPC Standard, and Intelligent Connected Vehicle, and shared with the attendees the related technology dynamics and development trend of the electronic automotive industry.

Lecture1:

"Qilin and Shenxing Accompanying 'ZEEKR' on a New Journey"

Mr. Jiang Sijie, Regional Director of Customer Support Department of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd(CATL), introduced the corporate profile and market position of CATL,a new energy technology company, and talked about the basic principles and development history of batteries, especially focusing on the advanced technology and safety performance of its Qilin batteries and Shenxing batteries. With five R&D centers and thirteen production bases.

CATL's business covers power battery systems, energy storage systems and related services, and it continues to lead in the global electric vehicle and energy storage market share. Mr. Jiang also introduced the basic principles and development history of batteries, comparing the battery system to a human body model, emphasizing the key role of the battery as the "heart" and the role of the BMS as the "brain". Mr. Jiang introduced the outstanding performance of Qilin's batteries, including the features of ultra-fast charging, long range, high power and high integration, and the use of a new generation of NP technology; he pointed out that the Zeekr 001, which is equipped with the Shenxiang Supercharger Edition, further enhances its competitiveness in the market and brings the ultimate user experience.

Lecture 2:

"High Arithmetic Intelligent Module Enabling the New Era of Automotive Intelligent Networking"

Mr. Huang Dequan,General Manager of Operation Center of MeiG Smart Technology Co., Ltd, gave a detailed introduction of MeiG Smart's development in the field of automotive intelligent network connection, market strategy, technical strength, and outlook for the future. Lecture 3:

"Automotive Electronics Drives Electronics Manufacturing Industry to Accelerate Toward Intelligent Manufacturing"

Mr. Li Jinshan, Director of Standards of IPC, gave us a detailed introduction of IPC and IPC standards, and emphasized the wide application and importance of IPC standards in the global automotive electronics industry, as well as sharing how to achieve the traceability of the whole process of product production and manufacturing through IPC digitalization-related standards. He mentioned the requirements and applications of IPC standards in different fields such as automotive, aerospace, medical, rail transportation, and consumer electronics, and introduced us to automotive OEM cases, such as: Toyota adopts IPC standards to ensure that its suppliers comply with the global standards, to achieve a win-win cooperation and to meet the challenges of industry transformation. In addition, he also introduced a series of key technologies and standards to support the factory of the future (smart manufacturing), such as IPC-CFX-2591 Connected Factory Data Exchange Standard, IPC/DAC-2552 MBD Standard, IPC-2581 DPMX Standard, IPC-2551 Digital Twin International Standard, and so on.

Lecture 4:

"New Energy Vehicle Development and Intelligent Networked Vehicle Dynamics"

Mr. Zhang Shuqiao, professor-level senior engineer of SAIC, member of the Digital and Intelligent Manufacturing Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, and deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Automotive Industry Association, shared with us the history of the development of new-energy vehicles and intelligent networked vehicles globally, technological advances, and policy environments, as well as the market demand for and scale of the automotive chip market, and showed us the opportunities and challenges faced by the two fields under the drive of digital transformation. The opportunities and challenges faced by these two areas driven by digital transformation. Mr. Zhang Shuqiao pointed out that new energy vehicles will continue to develop rapidly in the next few years, and the penetration rate will be further increased, but the competitive situation of the industry will remain fierce; intelligent networked vehicles have become a new industry that integrates the fields of electronics, information and communication, and road transportation, etc., and its market scale is expected to expand rapidly at a compound annual growth rate of over 50% against the background of policy support and technological maturity. Meanwhile, the expansion of the electric vehicle market has led to significant growth in demand for automotive chips, especially power devices, power management, vision, radar, arithmetic, storage and control and other related chips, and it is expected that by 2030, the scale of the global automotive electronics chip will reach US$110 billion, with China's market share approaching US$30 billion.

Lecture 5:

"Seat Ambiance Lighting: Immersive Experience"

Mr. David, Director of Strategy, Marketing, and Joint Ventures for Faurecia Asia Pacific, led us through the evolution of the intelligent cockpit from an experiential perspective. Mr. David analyzed three key factors driving changes in passenger vehicle products: firstly, amidst the post-pandemic era, consumers are increasingly attentive to practicality, quality, and cost-effectiveness; secondly, under economic pressures and inflation, consumers are focusing more on the core value of products; and thirdly, there is a rising pursuit of lifestyle quality and entertainment needs. Mr. Huang emphasized the application of cabin ambiance lighting in four areas: safety, personalization, contextualization, and interior emotionalization. For safety, ambient lights aid in clear visibility, preventing accidents, ensuring driver focus and comfortable driving. On personalization, they reinforce brand identity, as seen in Volvo's 360C entertainment mode or Toyota Alphard's welcome carpet lights. Interior emotionalization is embodied in "smart scenario" modes, where systems like Hyundai Mobis and Kia's emotional adaptive systems synchronize ambient lights with music and temperature to adapt to passengers' moods.

Lecture 6:

"The Development Trend of AI-Enabled Vehicles and Thoughts on Mass Production and Landing"

Mr.Zhu Xichan,Professor of Automotive School of Tongji University and Director of Institute of Automotive Safety Technology, highlighted the trends in smart car development and analyzed the current state and competitive strategies of China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market. He outlined three survival paths for Chinese automakers: price competition, technology competition, and exporting cost-effective products to avoid intense domestic competition. Professor Zhu emphasized the close relationship between electric vehicles and smart cars, and addressed approaches to tackling safety issues in autonomous driving. He delved into the significance of constructing autonomous driving datasets and the direction for future community development in this realm.

Lecture7:

"Advanced Packaging Challenges in Automotive Electronics"

Scientific leader and IEEE Fellow, Mr. Li Ningcheng, founder of ShinePure Technology and Ningcheng New Material, discussed the challenges of soldering in semiconductor applications, which mainly involves a number of technical difficulties in the process of solder paste printing, such as the selection of particle size, control of the oxide layer, flux ablation, the selection of the solder joint spacing and solder paste type, and the control of the thickness of inter-metallic compounds, which provides important theoretical guidance and practical experience in optimizing the semiconductor encapsulation process and improving the quality of the encapsulation. Lecture 8:

"Radar Intelligence & Automotive Radar Intelligent Production"

Mr.Wang Kai, Marketing and Operation Director of Mingdai, made an in-depth discussion on vehicle-mounted radar products, and made a comprehensive exposition on various aspects, such as product type, accident analysis, manufacturing process, digital construction, and future technology application. Mr. Wang Kai emphasized the characteristics of vehicle-mounted radar products, quality control measures in the manufacturing process and the importance of digital construction to the radar manufacturing industry, and also looked forward to the future cutting-edge applications of radar technology in the automotive industry.

On April 26th, the last day of the Automotive Electronics Production Technology Salon came. On the last day of the event, the site was still crowded and lively.

That morning, Ms. Jia Hong, Public Relations Director of NIO (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., delivered a fascinating presentation titled "NIO Electric Drive Experience Salon."
